Now that I’ve told you who the new feminist is and where the term “new feminism” comes from, you might be wondering what comes next. I mean, she can’t go on expounding on her blog title forever, right? Right. Now that we’ve got the basics down, I’d like to give you a little preview of what I envision for this blog.
The subtitle, “musings on authentic femininity in light of the Catholic faith,” pretty much says it all. These “musings” will range from philosophical reflections to movie reviews, from commentary on news stories or current events to picks for classy, feminine gifts for friends (or yourself!). The unifying theme will be authentic femininity in light of the Catholic faith. This blog is by no means exclusively for Catholics. In fact, one of the beautiful things about new feminism is that it offers ample room for collaboration and discussion with non-Catholics, Christian as well as non-Christian. Nevertheless, as a Catholic I believe that the fulfillment of our potential as humans and as women comes when we embrace the Catholic faith. Thus, this blog will definitely have a Catholic flavor to it, and I will always make a sincere effort to adhere to Catholic teaching.
